1-7-05. This is a depiction of a slave woman who has recently given birth, while escaping on the "Underground Railroad". The beautiful combination of colors is designed to remind one of the Christmas Spirit all year-round. It is entitled "Black Madonna", in honor of the birth of Jesus. It completes the 4 part Holy Spirit inspired series paintings, which honor the life of Jesus. It is also Sandra's expression of the special spritual connection between mother and child.
